Short Mat Bowls
We are a friendly, social group which meets at the Bishops Hull Hub on Wednesday afternoons between 2.00pm and 4.30pm, except for the third one of each month. On those weeks we meet on the Friday at the same times. The club does not belong to any leagues, we play purely for the fun and enjoyment of it. Our sessions are open to all ages and abilities from the local community and beginners will be warmly welcomed.
The club was formed in 2021 to coincide with the opening of the new village Hub and give an alternative social opportunity to the local neighbourhood. Considerable fund raising took place over twelve months and, thanks to the National Lottery Local Community Fund, the Southwest Lottery, Somerset Community Foundation and the Trustees of the Bishops Hull Hub, we were able to raise sufficient funds to start up.

The club owns all its equipment and has a range of bowls available to use. All we ask is you bring some form of indoor footwear to use when playing. Refreshments are provided during the break and, on the third Wednesday of the month, we quite often meet up for lunch in a variety of local venues.
The cost to play is £4.00 per session and club membership is available on both a full and associate level depending on how many times you intend to play each month. We offer a monthly coaching session for those looking to improve their skills and, if you are new to the club, the first two sessions are free.
